Multiplex tissue image of the month - LTF in salivary gland
Multiplex tissue image of the month - LTF in salivary glandIn depth-profiling of the expression of Lactotransferrin (gene: LTF) in the salivary gland reveal distribution in parts of the ductal system. At the Human Protein Atlas, protein expression in various structural components of the salivary gland is explored with the help of the mIHC/IF-based salivary gland panel. In addition to the saliva-producing acini, the salivary gland includes small ducts that modify and guide the saliva from the acini to large ducts. Through the employment of mIHC/IF, LTF - an antimicrobial iron-binding transport protein - is mainly localized (green) to the cytoplasm of small ducts (magenta) and serous acini (cyan). Other visualized structures include large ducts (red). For more details about the mIHC/IF technique visit our method page. |
