Typically, moderate-intensity neuronal cytoplasmic somatic- and weak diffuse-synaptic type immunostianing patterns are noticed throughout the entire brain. The cellular signal is more intense (strong) in a subpopulation of caudate putamen neurons, in the ventral pallidum, in a subpopulation of hippocampal neurons, in the cerebellar nuclei and in multiple brainstem nuclei.
